Embroideried Chairbacks

4 years back passion on brazilian embroidery  made me to do some chairbacks using different stitches like portugese stem,raised lazy daisy ,caston ,eastern ,basque ,rosette chain ,kamal kadai, knotted buttonhole ,cretan ,fishbone ,bullion etc etc..apart from that i learnt muvvalakuttu ,ringknots, net knots ,chemanthi and lavangam from my friend Lakshmi Sadala while we were discussing abt stitch variations in Indusladies community..i would always be thankful to her.. for these above mentioned stitches,you can  also refer her beautiful blog.

there are 6 chairbacks i like to display with their closeups..iam sure you can recognise each and every stitches..i have put some of the stitch names below each picture for your easy reference..if any doubt feel free to ask..

Hand Embroidery Saree

one of my hand embroideried saree..here i have used stem stitch for stems,herringbone for leaves and alternate fly and straight stitch to make flowers..you can follow the stitch from the close up picture of single flower..i have done designs on pallu as well as body wherever i need..11 bunches have been made..some small butties have also been added here and there..this is polycotton saree and the thread used is silk thread..

TAST 2012 WEEK 21 Butterfly Chain Stitch

earlier i used this stitch in simple motifs..today i have done simple free hand design using butterfly chain or sheaf stitch..just grasses,flowers and little butterflies..love to see others trials too..for this stitch details take a look into this Blog ..thank you Sharon..

Pot Painting

here is my simple pot painting..

i have used enamel and fabric paint , 3D liner , kundan stones , mirror pieces etc on 1st pot..

on 2nd pot , made use of  enamel paint , glitter powder , 3D liner etc..

PROCEDURE

first apply the paste of  Chalk powder, fevicol and gum liquid on the earthen pot and after it is dried,the surface was rubbed with emery sheet(sand paper)just to smoothen it..after that you can brush black enamal paint all over the pot and let it dry..over this you can brush any designs or shades or strokes with metallic fabric paint..let it dry again and finally give a coat of varnish..on the 2nd pot ,i repeated the same process but just after brushing enamal(dont let it dry),took some glittering powder on a paper, placed near the pot and gave a light blow by mouth while turning the pot in circular motion so that the powder chips will stick on the pot all around..then used 3D liners as well..hope this helps..

Bhagavatha Sapthaha

Bhagavatha Sapthaham at our residence

The Bhagavata is among the most important puranas on bhakti..last week we have conducted bhagavath sapthaha at our residence..it started on 30th april and concluded on 6th may followed by Bhagavath Geetha recitation .. our relatives and friends also took part in this auspicious occassion to receive krishnas blessings..whole 7days have gifted spiritual enlightment and great krishna bhakthi to all and we  wish to keep this always..let us pray god for this..we also enjoyed well in celebrating great events like Krishna janma,Rugmini swayamvaram while going through Dasamascanda..its a great pleasure for adults as well as kids to perform the cradle ceremony of little krishna..bhajans,discourses were also conducted in every evenings..i believe that only by god's grace everything went so smoothly..iam grateful to all those who have participated and given helping hands for us in many ways..
